Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada (AHN) - Canadian archeologists announced on Thursday they discovered a missing ship 155 years after the vessel disappeared in the Arctic Bay.
The vessel is one of three ships that Parks Canada is seeking to locate this summer. The two others are the HMS Erebus and the HMS Terror. The three vessels were trapped in 1850 in the icy waters of Mercy Bay, located 600 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle.
The wreck was found in shallow water days after Parks Canada archeologists started the search for the 422-ton vessel along the Beaufort Sea. The team found the ship upright in silt, the three masts missing. Because of the ice cold water, the ship did not deteriorate so much. The archeologists used side-scan sonars from inflatable Zodiac boats to search for Investigator.
Parks Canada photographers will use underwater cameras to take pictures of the wreck this week. The agency\'s divers will be deployed next summer to further investigate the ship\'s hull.
Environment Minister Jim Prentice, who visited the Parks Canada camp on Tuesday, said finding Investigator will help Ottawa assert Canada\'s claim to the Arctic area.

Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) - The Weinstein Co. has revealed some of their production slate for the future, and it\'s full of sequels. Along with a follow-up planned to the parody series "Scary Movie," the studio has also given the green light to sequels to "Halloween" and "Hellraiser."
According to the Hollywood Reporter, a sequel to "Scary Movie" is in active development. "Scary Movie 4," the last installment in the franchise which parodied films like "Saw" and "War of the Worlds," grossed over $178 million worldwide back in 2006.
While it was previously reported that a new sequel to "Halloween" was scrapped, initially planned for 3-D, "Halloween 3" is in development as well. The studio is also developing sequels to "Hellraiser" and "Children of the Corn."
The Weinstein Co. is going to focus on its most bankable franchises while also creating films with lower budgets. They plan six wide releases a year, with others in limited release.
"Scream 4," which is currently in production with a budget of $40 million, is set to hit theaters in April 2011. "Spy Kids 4" is also set to go into production with a similar budget for a release in August of next year.

Los Angeles, CA, United States (AHN) - After receiving a failing grade from the Gays & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, CBS now vows to add more gay characters to its shows. Network president Nina Tassler says they will do better next time.
GLAAD has given the eye network a failing mark for two consecutive years for lacking more gay characters on its shows. Because of the disappointing grades, Tassler said they have plans to include more gay representations on the upcoming episodes of their shows.
Tassler said at the Television Critics Association fall previews, as quoted by TVGuide, "I\'m very disappointed in our track record so far. We know we will do better."
"Once you come out of your pilot development season disappointed with yourself, you go into the current series season and look for every opportunity we can to improve the numbers we have represented in the cast."
"We\'re going to do that, and we\'ll continue to focus on that as we go into development season. We\'re not happy with ourselves."
The characters that are expected to be introduced include Alicia\'s (Julianna Margulies) gay brother on "The Good Wife," a new recurring gay character of "S#*! My Dad Says," and a lesbian surrogate for Jeff and Audrey (Patrick Warburton and Megyn Price) on "Rules of Engagement."

Paris, France (AHN) - Dutch supermodel Lara Stone is suing Playboy for publishing unauthorized photos of her last month.
The 26-year-old catwalk beauty claims the French edition of the men\'s magazine and photographer Greg Lotus used her images without her consent.
The photos that were published in the June/July issue of French Playboy, which include her full frontal nude and topless images, were apparently taken by Lotus last year. The model said the pictures weren\'t meant to be published on the adult glossy.
Stone has instructed lawyers to begin proceedings against the magazine and the photographer in Paris.
She said in a statement, "Playboy had no right to publish these unauthorized photographs. It\'s not the kind of publication I would ever choose to appear in."
"I feel I have no option but to take steps to protect my reputation."

Usher\'s own New Look Foundation is holding its first World Leadership Awards, which will honor individuals and organizations who have shown leadership in youth services. Bieber is among the recipients of the Global Youth Leadership Award.
President Bill Clinton will receive the Service Legacy Award at the event, which is set to be held in Atlanta\'s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center. Usher, Ciara, and Bieber are all set to perform.
"Over the course of my life in public service, and now through my Foundation, I have tried to give young people the tools and opportunities to make a difference in their communities and around the world," said President Clinton. Animal rights activists, which collected 180,000 signatures for the ban, hailed the vote. Catalan Green Party\'s spokesman Francesc Pane described bullfighting as "gratuitous cruelty" and a "show of torture".
His comments came before the vote at a time when dozens of opponents and supporters demonstrated outside the Parliament building and brought placards that read "Stop animal cruelty" or "Bulls yes, freedom yes".
The supporters of vote said that the ban became imminent as bullfighting lost interest throughout Spain, especially among youngsters. A 2007 Gallup survey showed disinterest of three-quarters of Spaniards in the sports.
The opponents of the vote, on the other hand, insisted that the corrida, as the event was locally known, must be preserved as an important tradition. The ban will be effective from January 2012.
In Spain, the bullfighter stabs the animal several times before killing him at the end in a typical bullfight, which lasts nearly 20 minutes. A corrida involves three matadors, who tackles a pair of bulls each.
The sport is also quite popular in Portugal and France, where the animal is not killed in the ring.
