March 27, 2008 10:18 p.m. EST Nidhi Sharma - AHN News Writer Columbia, GA (AHN) - Two people are dead and four others are injured after a shooting spree at a west Georgia hospital. The suspect went to Doctor's Hospital in Columbus, Georgia Thursday morning where his mother had died and shot three people, killing two, before police shot and wounded him. According to the Columbus Police Chief the suspect shot and killed one person on the fifth floor of the hospital then wounded another. He then went outside to the hospital's parking lot and shot another person. The gunman fired on the officer as soon as the police car pulled up. He ran from the scene and shot at a motor squad officer before being wounded by a plain clothes detective. A male nurse was among the dead at Doctors Hospital, and a secretary was in critical condition. The suspect's name is not released. He is said to be in stable condition.
